New changes this year!

 Coming Back to PRC!!

I have exciting news to share with you this coming school year. This year as our staff team is growing and more new Collin College campuses are opening this fall, our staff will be splitting up into pairs to oversee their campus for outreach and forming small groups. This year I will be at Preston Ridge Campus (PRC) in Frisco and the Wylie Campus! I'm very excited to be back at PRC because this campus is where I first started my ministry as a student at Collin FOCUS. Going back to this campus brings back memories of the courtyard where all the students hang out and walk to classes. I will be leading a small group at PRC with a student name Tom Grant.

My first year leading core at PRC circa 2015-2016. It's so crazy 6 years has gone by!!

I was walking around PRC and praying with God for the campus, and I noticed this garden patch dried up. I took a picture and reflected on this image. This dry patch of soil shows me how are students on campus are in a dry season and are hungry and thirsty for God. For over a year through the pandemic, new freshman and returning sophomores had gone through the school year with zero friends, and we're still looking for them who feel alone in the world. We are God's handiwork to tend and care for the soil of his people He entrusts us with. Whether it's planting the seed (God's Word) or watering the soil (praying for them), God will do the growing for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see. My prayer this year is to see God's goodness grow at the Collin campuses in response to our faithfulness to work the harvest.

I will also be at the Wylie Campus to help reach out to students and invite them into our community and befriend them. This year, we will have more students attend this campus, seeing Collin moving classes back into the classroom.

Looking back at July

Since June, Pedro Paz and I had organized basketball games Monday mornings for our college and teen students to come out and play basketball with us. We started playing at UTD outdoor courts, and in this photo, we played in an indoor gym at LA Fitness.

Over the summer, I get to catch up with my old college buddies when I first started at Collin FOCUS. Seeing them again is super fun, and I enjoy catching up with them.

This group of guys are fun and encouraging to be around. David (left) will be joining our Collin staff team as an apprentice. Jeremy (center) and Tom (right & my co-fa) are 2/4 corefas at PRC this year. Here in this photo, we're celebrating Jeremy's birthday

I've been wrestling with anxiety about what people would think about me or sharing my thoughts and feelings with others in fear of leading to conflict. Fear has pushed me back from walking in freedom and fellowship with others. Jesus is the light and truth, and he did not fear what others thought about him or tried to please people. He knew his value importantly comes from his Father, and he reflected that on others who felt less valued. God's love is beyond perfect that drives out my fears and insecurities. The Spirit of God is with me to give me power, love, and self-control. These two verses have encouraged me to love my brothers and sisters by speaking and walking like Jesus with boldness and grace.

Thank you!

I want to give a special thank you to my ministry partners for supporting me. This fundraising season has been encouraging and astonished to see God's goodness through each of you who generously give to me to do this long-term. Your prayers and monetary support are a reflection of God's grace to me, and I cannot thank you enough!
