Goodbye 2020!

 What. A. YEAR!!!

The moment we've been waiting for has finally come. I was thinking about the song "Hit the Road Jack" by Ray Charles and we can all say to 2020, "HIT THE ROAD JACK"! This blog is going to be very short but with lots of pictures over the month. We ended our Fall semester with a winter worship night, and 50+ of our collin students came to praise our God. When the semester is over that doesn't mean we clock out from God. During the winter break, our staff team read over a book called Money & Power by Jacques Ellul (I know the title could be misleading). The book is about the attitudes toward wealth from the Old Testament to the New Testament, Jacques Ellul discusses both societal and individual responsibilities related to the use of money and power. This book is a good read and challenging to think through, but it's helped me think differently about money and the role it plays. What has God been teaching you over the holidays?

I had the honor to spend Christmas with Caitlin and her parents in California. It was a joy to see them and spend quality time with my new family. I look forward to many more holidays and visits with them.

My Wednesday core group (plus my roommate Collin in the blue shirt) went bowling in Plano. I love fellowship and spending time with all my guys. Plus they are really good at bowling!!

Me with my Tuesday (McKinney) Core group participating in archery. We went to an archery facility in Plano and got to do practice shots, and it was super fun! The guys loved this hangout and were debating who had better aiming. Haha!

Our winter worship night at the same church in Plano. Garrett gave a great sermon about the true purpose of the birth of Christ. It gave me so much joy to see how God would fulfill his promises by sending Jesus to save us. He deserves our praise.

Some of our Collin staff team and I hosted an outdoor Christmas movie night. How awesome is that?! We plan to do more stuff like this in the future.

This is my brother BJ. He is a new generation pastor in Austin, TX and I was so excited to witness him giving his sermon in front of his congregants. He is a role model to me not just a brother in blood, but a brother in spirit. I really love this guy and admire his heart for God and the kingdom mission.

Wow! Ryan is a sweet guy I got to know over the years when he and I were Collin students. He's very sweet and loves people so well. Please read his testimony and continue to pray for our students.
